Hey!!!

How are you all doing?? So I thought I would start this off by telilng you all that I had a dream... And in that dream I saw a tree and a rod of iron... Hahaha. Kidding. I did have a dream but it was nothing to do with a tree. Haha. In my dream I was back in Guate after my mission and I don't really remember all the details but there was one thing that really was interesting. This dream was in SPANISH!!! Wahoo!!!! I have been hoping to have a dream in spanish so bad!!! I have heard from so many sources that once you have a dream in another language it is because you a practically fluent. I know I have a lot to improve in my spanish but I know that I am blessed with the gift of tongues!! I am so excited!!

This weekend was filled with contrasts. On Saturday I went to a baby shower for a sister in my ward... She has a lot of family that aren't members so it was a great opportunity to contact. We were able to celebrate the beginning of a new life. Just like Wendy is bringing another one of God's children to earth. It was a moment filled with joy and anticipation. The beginning part of the Plan of Salvation was being celebrated!!!

But then that night we went to support different memebers of the ward at a viewing. The viewings here are held in the house of the family... While there, as you can imagine, the feeling was the complete opposite. Like the first family not all are members, but those that are non-members were/are in agony... On Sunday morning we went to the burial.... One of the sons of the person that passed away was weeping. He was in hystaricals... It made my heart ache the way he pleaded for his mother to come back or take him with him... The sister that died was a grandmother and her son is of middle age. I am so glad to know of the Plan that the Father has for us!! This made me think of my family and friends. Some members, others in-active, and others non-members. I pray that all can come to know the truth so that in times of tials (like a death) we can all have comfort. I mostly thought of my aunts, uncles, and cousins on my dad's side of the family... I hope that we can all work on inviting them to come back or join the fold of God!! It is a prayer of mine that we can all be together forever and have that knowledge here in life!!

Well I am sending pictures... I found a way to download pics faster. There is one of me standing at the bottom of some stairs... This is in a gated community... Way beautiful!!! There is another of me in the rain. I left my raincoat at home because it hadn't rained that bad. But in this pic the water was up to my ankles... and with a breeze I had to stop by the house for my jacket... I was pretty wet!!! LOVED IT!!! And the last was taken this morning... When we woke up we saw that one of the two bathrooms had flooded... We swept and squiggied(?) the water out. Hahahaha. Fun times!!

Well I gotta go!! Love you all!!

Hey there from Guatemala,

How are you all doing?? Did Wendy have her baby yet?? I am guessing not yet but I was hoping yes. Hahaha. I hope that everyone is wonderful!!

This week we had interview with the president. I can't tell you how much I enjoy conversing with him. When I first started in the field I thought, "He doesn't know me. He doesn't really care." But then about 5 1/2 months ago I had an interview that totally changed my mind. Without even saying a word when I walked in, he commented on my feelings. I was amazed that he know what I was feeling. (I hadn't had the chance to explain my feelings before he spoke). I gained a testimony in that instant, and it has grown since then, that he is guided by the Lord. I know that my leaders truly care and want what is best. I urge you that if you have a doubt about that pray to God, then go to the Bishop, Stake President, etc, ask for an interview. God will show you His power.

One thing that we talked about in my interview is how to have success. The president asked me to answer how I have been able to find success in my new area. I replied that it was all based on my faith. I learned the hard way that doing thing how I want to do them gets me NO WHERE. I just need to remain focused, work diligently and calmly, and then the Lord with place His choosen in my path. I am just to start by listening. I can't know what to teach if I don't know what the needs are. I have learned to speak with the Spirit. I let him guide my thoughts and words. It is amazing how much success you can find when you are guided by the Spirit. But don't doubt!! Another experience about faith... I had a lesson on Friday with an investigator named Yohana. She isn't married and we need to get some identification for her "husband" so that they can get married. We couldn't find the papers that had his date of birth and birth place. So I suggested a prayer after looking in her small one roon house for 20 minutes. She agreed and after the prayer I opened a folder that we had looked through 3 times. With all the calmness I had from the prayer I shuffled through the papers and found the info we needed. :D I know without a doubt that the Lord hears and answers our prayers. He loves us!! But we musted doubt!!! With one drop of doubt we fail to see the answers we need!!!

I love you all!!!

Hey family

I was able to talk to most of you yesterday!! I really loved hearing from everyone. Sorry for the time that I talked in Spanish... I know that not everyone understood. I told you all that I would send you a picture of what the classroom looks like where I was talking to you. I was in the Church when I got the call. We don't have cell phones so I brought my house phone. They are used like cell phones: portable. So this phone will work in all of Guatemala no matter where I am.

I love you all!!!

Hey all,

How is everyone doing?? I am doing wonderful. This last week there was trnasfers but I am still with Hna. Barrios and still in San Felipe, Retalhuleu. I am growing to love this area. I have had 5 baptisms in the last 4 weeks. I am loving the experience of seeing the Spirit go to work. There is no better place to see the Lord's hand in the small and simple things of life.

This week I have seen the love of a parent. There were two kids that weren't baptised. The mom is an inactive member and the dad isn't a member. He works in the capital and only comes home every two weeks. The mom didn't want to let the kids get baptised for fear of her husband. But as she looked them in the eyes and thought about the example she would set by not letting them follow Christ, she gave permission for them to be baptised. I am so glad the the Lord touches the hearts of His children.

I know without a doubt that as adults, teachers, parents, etc. we are in charge of teaching the little ones. If they do not learn while they are little they will be hard to change when they are older. In Proverbs 22:6 is states that we are to teach out kids when they are little and they will not be lost as adults!! I believe this 100%. :D Do all that you can to teach the children you know how to apply the gospel in their lives. Because without application, it doesn't work.

I love you all!!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms and moms to be!!

Love,

Hey all,

How are you all doing?? I am doing just wonderful!! Before I write I have a question for you to ponder.... ¿What makes me different from the other Childern of God? Each of us has a divine personality. Ask God to help you figure yours out. :)

So life here in Sna Felipe is great!! I am getting along with my companion. We have been having success too. Last week it was Fabiola that got baptized and this week Elias (the little boy). It has been amazing getting to know so many people. I am over joyed when someone wants to come to Christ and enter His fold. It is the greatest joy to share the gospel. Please never pass up a chance to talk about the gospel. It is hard the first time but the Lord has promised to be with you as you do your part to build His kingdom.

I love you all!!

Hey there!!

So I have to tell you all... I cannot live without my planner. Hahaha. I played volleyball this morning and left my planner in the church... I have all the things that I wanted to tell you all. Now I only remember a few things. Hahaha.

So here goes.... I had a really cool lesson the other day. (Hahaha don't remember what day...) There was a less active that had a doubt about why we talk so much about Joseph Smith. so I compared him to the commandment of "Honor thy mother and father". How? Well Joseph Smith is the father of this dispensation. Therefore we show him honor for being worthy of the calling of a prophet of God. I had NEVER made that connection before but i just loved that!! That is such a good way to explain. But only if the person is willing to accept it. I haven't used that method since.

I also had the chance to watch two sessions in english. and two in spanish. How blessed to be able to understand two languages. Hahaha. It bolws my mind sometimes.

I gotta go.

Love you all!!
