Hey family,
How are you all doing?? I hope that everyone is doing great!! This week has been great!! We were able to be at the birhthday lunch of one of our converse's daughters. She turned 15. This family has very little!!! The roof of the house is about 1/2 inch taller than me. Some places the dirt ground is higher and I have to duck down to fit in the house. It was a great lesson for me that the material things in life are so not important!! They are happy and together and that is what matters to them!! They are starting to learn the gospel and they love learning!! The kids are studying on Sundays and for that reason they can't get baptised. :( But soon!! I hope to always remember the example this family gives me!! I don't want to take for granite the things that I am blessed with and my life at home!!
I also had a baptism on Saturday of a 12 yr. old girl. Her dad is inactive but she is so cute!! She is our naighbor and her mom is our landlord. We are working with her mom but she is progressing very slowly. We will have to find a way to touch her heart more. But I think seeing her daughter get baptized helped!! Lorena is the girl and she has found so much joy in the Church and loves to learn more about Christ!! She is very excited to work on her Personal Progress!!
The other pic is of me and my comp waiting for the Elders in the Church. They were going to go with us to a lesson and showed up late. We took advantage of the time and took a picture!! My umbrella is the green one!! :)
Love you all,

Hey family!!
I hope that everyone is doing great!! I am sure that life is hectic because the wedding is soon... Right??? I don't even know what day the wedding is... When is it?? Just know that I have you all in my prayers!! Take a video and LOTS of pictures of the wedding.... I won't be sending pics this week. Sorry.
So we had a conference with the President Maravilla. He is an amazing leader. I am so glad to be under his guidance. I learned so much more about the Book of Mormon and how it applies to our lives. Being here on the mission has helped me gain a huge love for the scriptures. I didn't understand them before. I read but didn't get it really. But I have learned that the Book of Mormon can truly apply to EVERY situation of life. I find the stories coming to life as I read about each prophet. I hope that all of you can really take time to truly feast upon the words of Chirst found in the scriptures!!! I invite all of you to start now if you haven't started. Today is the day of repentance, the day of change!! I love you all and want all of you to receive the promised blessings of God!!!
Life is so full of choices. Some are so small that they don't seem to matter. For example, what color of shirt you wear. However, each choice brigns their consequence. One may ask what is the consequence of the color of shirt you wear. Maybe that color with catch the attention of a future friend, boss, or spouse. If we are living in agreement with the Gospel of Christ, we can be ready to be an instrument in the hands of our Savior. That friend may be a non-member that will join the kingdom of God because of you!! Always prepare yourself to help and be a solution and not be a problem!! Be willing to serve the Lord with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.
I have found more joy in being obedient and willing to serve than in any other moment of my life. If you have a doubt or trial, trust in God!!! Go to Him in prayer. And trust in His chosen leaders.
I love you all!!!!

Hey family,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!! I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!
So I have had a week that ranged from great to ok to bad.... Why?? Because of the various experiences. The first thing that happened was quite sad... I learned that the memories and changes that I have in my heart and soul are much more important than those I have physically. I learned this lesson in a very hard way... All those that know me know how much I value my camera. When I received it 3 Christmas' ago I took 300 photos in one week. Well in my camera I took 1500 pictures since I've entered in the field in September. The only problem now is that I no longer have my camera. I think that it fell out of my bag last p-day. I don't know where it is. But I know that the memories that I have in my heart will go with me for all of eternity. We will all just have to wait until we get to the spirit world for you all to know what I have seen. I will only hve a few pictures from my companions that we took together. Now I am lucky to have a companion that owns a camera. Hna Barrios is kind enough to lend me her camera...
So the pictures that I am sending now are so a hike we went on this morning as a zone. It was beautiful!!! I am glad that we were able to go. Close to the lagoon that we hiked to we could see a small active volcanoe that is always spitting out smoke. So amazing!!!!!
I also had a baptism on Friday. Her name is Silvia and she is so excited to be part of the church and work on her Personal Progress. :)
I love you all!!!

Hey there everyone!!
How are you all doing?? I hope you are all doing great. I am so glad that Jimmer arrived without any problems!! However, I would love to see some pictures. I was thinking earlier this week about the difference between men andwomen when a baby is born. Women give all the details you could want and more. While men are mostly just worried if it is a boy or girl and if it is healthy. The sister in my ward that had her baby shower the same weekend as Wendy had her baby yesterday and her brother told us that it is a girl... And nothing else. Hahaha.
So this week has been great!! I have had a lot of opportunities to think about the ups and downs of life. I think that my life has been a wonderful life and I have loved every aspect of it. I have been blessed in every way possible. One thing that I have been blessed with is parents that taught me to believe in myself. I do not like to think on the negative side of things. To me the glass is very rarely half empty. Almost always I see it as half full. I have noticed that when someone is super postive, it is contagious. But it also works the other way around. When someone is overly negative it brings a negativce effect on those around them. I have been fighting a negative force. I am slowly but surely winning the war. Hahaha. I have been fighting by trial-and-error. I have found a way to best win each battle. I will give you all a hint. This works for me and I hope it works for you guys. When I hear someone talking negatively, I don't respond. Normally my first reaction would be to respond negatively. Instead I think about the words I could say. If it isn't helpful then I just remain silent. From there on out I refuse to make a negative comment. Even if it is about something little. I am now finding the silver-lining more and more often. I am living what I have always taught to my volleyball girls... If you think it is true, you are right. If you think that all you have is bad luck then that is what you will find in your life. If you think that you have all the good luck and blessings in the world then that is exactly what you will find!!! I hope and pray that all of you will be the most optimistic person possible. Share your joy and not your misery!!!
I love you all and I love the gospel!!!
Practice what you preach!!
Love,
Hna. Pelaez

As a being of power, intelligence, and the master of his own thoughts, a man holds the key to every situation, to make his life what he chooses it to be. When he discovers the divine power within his soul, he can lead his life to a God-like nature. If one dreams lofty dreams, so shall he become. There is magic in the way one thinks. If we expect the worst, we will get the worst. If we expect the best, we will receive the best. If we train our minds to have faith in God and ourselves, we are using one of the great laws of life. If we think and live righteously, happiness will find its place in our lives. It is amazing when we expect the best how forces are set in motion which cause the best to materialize.
Our thoughts more than circumstances determine the course of our lives. Outward circumstances do not determine the course of our lives as much as the thoughts that habitually occupy our minds. These thoughts carve their impression on our faces, in our hearts, and on the tablet of our eternal souls.
