What Life is Made of...

Have you ever heard of the nursery rhyme called "What Little Boys are Made of"? Well it goes like this...

What are little boys made of?
Snips of snails, and puppy dog tails.
That's what little boys are made of!
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice and all things nice.
That's what little girls are made of!

It is a cute little rhyme that may not or may have some truth to it.  I think that if a little girl has her daddy as a role model and has guys as her closest friends, then parts of what the boys are made of get mixed in with the sugar and spice. :)  Haha.  Today I thought of this rhyme after thinking a little about life.  What is life made of?!

Well if you had asked me this morning my answer would have been a bit confusing, I'm sure.  But as the day has played out, I have seen little things that make up life!!  :)  First off, sometimes life need to show me just how much something means to me.  I felt like I was going to lose the biggest part of me around lunch time!!  I had spent the morning debating and praying about what I should do....  Respond??? Or ignore for a while???  Then the text came right on time and I responded.  It might have been better if I hadn't but at least I was shown something important.  My heart completely belongs to someone else!!  Bubby holds my heart in his hands!  That is probably why I have been on the verge of tears since last night.  Some times I just can't hold them back.  And if you know me at all, you know that I am not a fan of me crying!  Haha.  So I had to stop!!  Plus I had errands to run and people to talk to.  I did NOT want people asking what was wrong.  It would just show me that I had no reason to be crying!  I was able to calm down and head on my way.

Now is when life shows me what else it is made of.  Sugar and spice and everything nice!  So I headed to the school where I am coaching and I asked one of the secretaries if I could see the assistant principal.  He came out and asked a different secretary who the girl was that wanted to see him and why she left!  When I realized that there hadn't been another girl there since I had walked in...  So I piped up and said that I thought it was me... Haha.  The first secretary had thought I was a high school student!  Hahaha.  Why thanks but I'm the volleyball coach.  :)  It made me laugh inside that I am still confused for a younger age!  Then I had to run to the store and get a few things for my wedding.  I was walking to the check out and I saw a rack of swimming suits for super cheap!!  So I just had to try one on!  Perfect fit!!  I found a top and bottom for $20. Score!!  And then I went to check out.  After it was all scanned in and all I needed $0.34 for taxes.... Problem...  I took out all my change from my wallet two nights ago.  But then the girl in line behind me offers me $0.35!!  So nice of her!!!  It just boosted my mood!  When I got home, my brother calls to see if I could give him a ride home, so I walked out the front door and saw a box.  I took it inside and opened it.... The center pieces!!!!  Wonderful!! :D

So as you can see life has so much more to be happy for than sad!  It's true that life has some sad moments but then God shows His love and the happy moments out-shine the sad!

Love life!!  It is so much better!!!

A Moment that Lasted

I didn't think anything of it when the weekend started. I was just so happy to start spending time with Bubby.  Once he arrived I was doing just fine!  First we had a party to get to for my nephew.  :)  My sister and her husband had decided to host the party at his parents house.  They live an hour away from us so as soon as Bubby got to the house we piled in and headed out.

Since all of us girls are smaller, we sat in the back.  Me, Flip and Bob!! :)

All the boys are over six feet tall so they got the front seat. Kman, Bubby, and Cousin.

When we arrived, we first started to eat and then we headed out to take in the beautiful view off the back yard. :)  It was great!

My nephew was so cute!  He is a funny little one when taking pictures. :) I just love him!!

This is my second nephew and he is always so happy!  Mr. Happy will be turning one next week. :)

My nephew turned 4 this last weekend. He is so big!!

Something that was made very clear this weekend was the fact that I am going to marry someone that will always make me laugh.  We take so many to pictures to finally get a nice one. :)  I love it!!

My nephew is now a little cowboy!

His Aunt Flip taught him how to sneak frosting right off the cake.  Hahaha. So funny!

Something that Bubby must have noticed was that I am a very determined person. :)  For example, we were helping my nephew put together his very fancy marble track. Haha. It came with motors and lights and everything.

We had fun spending time with each other. These little moments filled our weekend!

This is the first of many weekend adventures I hope to have with this wonderful man!

Bubby said that he feels so peaceful.  More than tranquilo! I couldn't agree more!  What a blessing he has been in my life!!

We will be blessed with all of our dreams!  And we are coming up with new dreams all the time!  I am so excited to start living my biggest dream!

In between Friday and Sunday we were able to get our engagement pictures taken. I can hardly wait to see them!  I will put a few up when I can.  We also had some time to weed and talk.  What a great moment!!  I love getting to know more about the man I love!  He also is great at teaching me new things.  After weeding and pictures we were able to go golfing.  This is something I have never done before but Bubby is teaching me!  We met up with Bubby's best friends and I was finally able to meet them!!  It was great to see the boys hang out and having fun!  I look forward to many more memorable moments with his friends!

Part of my dream is to have Bubby by my side always.  I am blessed because he is so willing to support me!  Whether it is studying the Book of Mormon or listening to two talks in one Sunday!  I just love this man!!

Although I hadn't realized it as the weekend started, I did notice the great blessing by the end of this wonderful weekend!  I am so blessed with the knowledge that we will be happy and together!  What a wonderful calm feeling life has now. :)  I will be able to face any hardship if I can have Bubby by my side!

Getting Things Rolling!

So have you ever felt like the biggest slacker?! I have!!  It happens to me all the time now.  After coming from a life where every second has a plan and there is always something to be done, normal everyday life can be tough.  Haha.  I am ever so slowly getting busy.  My first step towards a normal/busy life...  I was accepted as the head volleyball coach for a local high school!!  :)  I am so excited!  This volleyball program has so much room to be better and no room to get worse.  In my opinion, the girls are so talented but have never had anyone to truly care about them!!  This gives me the opportunity to start from zero and build this team up. It is a challenge and I love it.  The future looks bright for this volleyball program!

Step two towards becoming busy....  Getting engaged!  I love my fiance so much!!  I am always looking for ways to spend time with him. Haha.  However, I am trying not to be overwhelming.... I hope he knows how much I care about him. :)  We have so much to do.  But mostly it is preparing my yard for the reception and finding where to get the funds to pay for everything.  Haha.  Spending time with him can be tricky though, because he lives an hour away and works 8-12 hours a day, usually. But weekends and evenings are free. :)

Step three to become busy....  Start subbing for all the sports teams that were made before anyone knew you were home. :)  Haha.  This is by far the funnest part of being busy!!  I am able to play volleyball and softball now!!  The games are so fun and I am getting to know more people!  I am also able to get back into the swing of things and see where my game needs to improve. :)  And now that Bubby is in my life I have a partner to play with and I don't feel like the odd one out!  Thanks Honey!!

This is us going to a softball game!! :)

Step four and possible the last....  Find a job!!  Right now I am on the unemployed list.  However.... I plan on getting off that list very soon!  If anyone hears of a flexible summer job let me know! Haha.  I am in need of some more things to do.

I am so grateful for where my life is going and how the Lord has guided me to this point in life.  I hope life can stay busy and rolling forward!

Every Love Story is Beautiful, but Ours is My Favorite!!

There are a lot of love stories in the world.  I have heard of so many!  For example, a couple met on the plane ride home from their missions and four days later they were engaged!!  Then two months later married.  And now they are expecting their second child. :)  CUTE!!

Another story.... My mom met my dad during her mission. She came home then three weeks later she was back where she served.  Two weeks later engaged and a week later married!!

My sister met her husband before he was baptized.  They dated for seven months before he was baptized and then after five more months they were engaged and then married six months later. :)

There are always details that only the couple know and other details that are widely known. But of all the many stories, I love the story of Senor Guapo and I. :) Haha.  I am not biased, it is just the best. Haha.

Two weeks ago, Senor Guapo was talking to me about meeting his sister.  I thought it was kind of funny how eager she seemed to meet me.  So we decided that the next day we would go up to meet her.  I came up with the idea of swinging by the temple to walk around after having dinner with her.  He agreed to it and I was pretty excited!!  I love the temples and just walking around the grounds is wonderful. :)

So on May 1st we head up to visit his sister. We had dinner at Winger's and just enjoyed visiting. I loved finally meeting his sister, her husband and their daughter.  She is so cute!!  The food was good. :)  When we were all finished, we headed out and made our way to the temple.

As we got out, Bubby helped me into a jacket and oddly didn't put his on.  He is always a bit colder than I am so I thought it was funny.  But I decided not to say anything and let him do his thing.  Haha.  We walked around with his sister and her husband for a while. When we started walking his sister was super eager to take pictures for us.  So Bubby handed her the camera and she started taking pictures of the temple.  then we got to the back side of the temple and she finally took a few pictures of us....

Bubby still walked around holding his jacket as you can see.  Haha.  And then I noticed that he wouldn't let me hold his jacket when he was helping with the stroller.  But I was just thinking that he was being sweet and not making me do anything.  Which is something he would do.  As we got back to the front of the temple and his sister started taking pictures...

When he finally put on his jacket I was on his right side.  But I guess he didn't want me to be on that side so he made a joke and I ended up on his left side. :)

He later told me that he had a hard time getting the ring out of his right side pocket (that's why I could be on the right side. Haha) I, however, was totally clueless that he was fidgeting with his pocket.  Haha.

Then all of a sudden, he was going down on his knee and he had a jewelry box in his hand.  I was so surprised!!!!  But so happy that it was finally happening!!

When he first got down on one knee he forgot to put the ring on my finger.  Haha.  So we reenacted it and we were able to get some pictures!!  (Isn't he adorable!?!)

I was so happy that I just wanted to hug him forever!!!  Thank you for already planning on going to the temple and letting me think it was my idea!  It was an amazing surprise!!

Funny fact that happened to us on the way home.... We were almost to the canyon and this car pulled up pretty close behind us.  Bubby said to me that the car could just pass him.  But the car never did.  Then once we got into the canyon, the lights of a cop car flip on and we get pulled over.  However, Bubby wasn't spending.  When the cop got to our window he gave us a warning because Bubby didn't merge into the right lane to allow the flow of traffic to continue.  Hahaha.  How random!!!

But the surprises didn't stop there.  :)  When we pulled into my drive way I saw something on the door... I couldn't really tell what it was because Bubby pulled up just far enough that I couldn't see it.  Haha.  We got up to the door and he had two dozen roses and a hand made sign with personal quotes all around it!!!  I just loved it and I am not going to lie... I spilled a few tears of joy!!

I LOVE BUBBY WITH ALL OF MY HEART!!!! I am so blessed to have him in my life!  I'm sorry to all those women out there because I have the best man in the world!!

Thank you honey for all the joy you have given me!  :D

The Start of Something New!

Wow, it has been a long time since I have written and a life as definitely been moving forward!!  Almost two months ago I met this great guy!  At first I was just hoping to get to know him, go on dates, and all that.  Then after the first time I spent time with him things started changing. :) But let's start from the beginning shall we....

On March 18th, my MTC companion had her homecoming.  She lives an hour away and I woke up late.  As I hurried to get ready I was thinking that I just might stay home instead of getting there late.  But in the end I decided to drive quickly and see if I would still make it to hear her speak.  Once I made it to the church I walked in and realized that I had missed the opening hymn, prayer, and the sacrament.  Oops!!  As the young men finished passing the Sacrament I sneaked into the back over-flow.  I sat alone and listened to my friend (let's call her Hermana O).  She mentioned me a few times in her talk and I was able to remember good times and imagine others.  :)  After the closing hymn and prayer I stood and looked around.  I wanted to see if there was someone I would be able to relate to or if I was lucky someone I would know.  As I looked around two young men caught my eye.  One was quite a bit shorter than me so I wasn't drawn to him.  However, the other was clearly taller than me and a whole lot cuter (you know I had to look for potential dates haha).  He also had a bag that was from Guatemala, or so I thought.  I was thinking that he was an Elder from my friend's mission.  I immediately made the mental note to find out more about him!  I walked to the front and left the two young men behind.

I was able to congratulate Hna O on her great talk and was introduced to a few people around her.  As I joined the conversation with a couple of people, I noticed that the two young men finally made it to the front of the room. :) Soon my companion was introducing the two to the rest of the crowd.  I am not going to lie.... At first I didn't get all the names straight and forgot which name belonged to the tall attractive guy!  Haha.  As he joined in the conversation I found out that the Guatemalan bag was actually from Honduras and he had just gotten back from his mission.  The group began to wander towards the back door and the conversation kept up.  When we were finally in the foyer, it was just him and I talking for a min.  But then he turned his attention to another person close by that joined in our conversation.  Although that was very kind of him, I really only wanted to talk to him.  Yes, I was being a little selfish.  Haha.  When the conversation steered more to a general direction, I decided that it was time for me to leave because I was hoping my new tall friend (He will be Bubby) would ask for my number but didn't think it would happen in front of others.  So I walked over to Hna O to say good bye.  She had mention that she wanted to get together soon so I asked her for her number.  Just as we started to exchange numbers, Hna O's mom said loudly that the others better come get into the exchanging action.  Very nice!!!!  That was the moment that Bubby came over and joined in.  :D  I was very excited!!  I saw him type in my number but then he was about to walk away.  So I hurried and told him that he needed to call me so I could have his number. :)  Well he did, we said our good byes, and I was on my way.

So that is how our relationship started.  He started to text me a little later that day (Sunday) and then we text  all the next day and then decided that on Tuesday we would go to the temple as temple buddies!!  He surprised me by offering to drive the hour to my house and back so that we could go together.  That was the first act of kindness that he showed me and it truly got my attention!  Then as we traveled to and from the temple Bubby captured me even more by doing something NO ONE has ever really done before.... He listened to me with interest and without interrupting!!  I was so shocked!  He seemed to be sincerely interested in what I had to say.  So we kept talking and went out on an official date the Saturday following.  Again he listened!  It was amazing!!!!  I had so much fun playing racquetball with him and the other couple we were with.

Then it was time for another one of my "tests".  I was really starting to like him!  He won me over and I was happy to let him. Haha.  So I dared to mention the fact that he needed permission from my dad so that we could be officially boyfriend-girlfriend.  He didn't even hesitate!  Another surprise!  Never had a guy been so willing to talk to my dad before.  They usually got scared off!  Bubby was making all the right moves! :) So exactly one week after hanging out for the first time he asked and received permission to date me!!! :)  And so the journey started!!
Bubby and I after he asked!! :)

Bubby and I have now started a new chapter in our lives and we are extremely happy! And it is all thanks to our missions and Hna O!!!! :)
