Hello my loved ones
So this week has been interesting. The biggest thing that has happened is that I found out that I will be training a North American starting Wednesday. It will be intense. They have changed the training program since I entered the field. There is a lot more studying and only 12 weeks to do it all. I will let you know how it goes. Hahaha. Another thing that is going on is that my companion started to pack up for home on Saturday. It has felt weird. I wonder how I will be when it's my turn. For one part I am a bit nervous to go home and another part I am excited to see what life holds.
This week we worked a lot with the members and I have learned to appreciate them and understand them better. One of the ladies in my area is SUPER short. (See the pic). Haha. Way cute. I love the people of Guatemala. I am learning the importance and impact the leaders of the wards have with the members. I hope that we can all have the trust we need to follow our leaders. They are not perfect but they are called of God.
This week the news from home is happy... but also sad. I wish to share with you all my knowledge of Christ. He loves us. He wants us to have joy. How is it that we find and feel this joy?? Through our trials. Sometimes we don't understand why people have to leave our lives. Or why we have to suffer for the choice of others. But I can tell you without a doubt that the Lord knows our abilities. He knos how much sorrow or bitterness we can handle. If we can turn and run to Him, I promise you that in the Lord's time all bitterness can become sweetness. All sorrow can become joy!!!!! He is there for you and me. He LOVES you!!! He knows you!! And He is waiting with His arms wide open to soothe the pain. He might not take it away because He knows that we must learn and grow through our trials. I love you all and I wish with all my heart that you take your sorrow-ladened hearts to Christ so that He can lift you above it all!!!

Hey all,
How are you all doing? I am doing great!!! Sorry this week I have little time. I will be better and write more next week.
This week we had interviews with the president. It went well. I have learned a lot. One of the things is that I must be 100% obedient. The Lord will alwasy expect the besdt of me. If I don't obey then I DO NOT have faith in the Lord, and I don't trust Him to care for me. I know that we must prepare for the future and things like that but I cannot tell the Lord how I want to be blessed. If I want to be blessed then I will obey the law that is connected with that law. Just like it says in D&C. If I recieve a blessing it is because I obeyed the law that was connected with it. I know that I should not stress or worry about how the future will turn out. I should just strive to obey in the present. The future will come. It alwasy does. :) Want to prepare?? OBEY!!! Have the faith enough to act!! The action is obedience.
I hope that you are all willing to love and support the Gospel. Don't be too worried about the "letter" of the law but more the SPIRIT of the law.

PS I got to watch "Princess and the Frog" today, because it is the end of my comps mission and the president gave us permission!!! :) I love that movie!!

Hey there everyone,
How are you doing? I am doing great!!! I am learning a lot in my new area and trying my best to follow the Spirit. This week I realized that I would love to be able to think like God. He knows everything!!! I am looking forward to understanding the "Grand Scheme of Things" one day. That is one of the purposes that we have in this life. To prepare and gain the knowledge that we need in order to gain the eternal perspective that we need. It is quite the struggle sometimes but if we just live our lives the way God has asked us to, then we will be able to feel His guiding hand much easier in our lives. That is a wonderful feeling. Sometimes we won't know how life will end up but the journey is what counts. It is what builds us up and strengths our faith in the Lord. I hope you will all start changing the little things in your life. Like reading and praying everyday. Taking care of your thoughts and words. Through the smallest things come the very biggest changes.
This week I was able to be part of a wedding and baptism. Hna. Martha and her husband finally made the decision to get married after one daughter and years of living together. After the wedding Martha was able to get baptized. It was great!!! I can see her desire to follow God. She studies the Sunday School lessons during the week and prayers for the Lord's help daily. One time we thought she wasn't home. It was the day of her interview and we were nervous that she had left. We decided to wait outside her house for a bit to see if she came back. Then suddenly she walks out her door and tells me "Sorry, I was in the middle of my prayer." It was such an amazing feeling of joy that swept through me when I heard her say that. She is so cute!! She got baptized on Friday and Saturday they invited us to dinner. We got to their house and we started to help them grill some meat... and intestines!!!! There is a picture of my first taste of it.... After eating a piece that was HUGE, I never want to eat intestines again. Hahaha. The first bite is good but after that is goes down hill. Hahaha.
This week has also passed a bit slower than usual because my companion twisted her ankle. One day I went around to visit with a sister of the ward because my comp had to rest her ankle. The other days we walk super slow. Hahaha. It has been an interesting experience. She is better now though!!
Well that is all the excitment for this week.

Hello,
How are you all doing?? I am doing great!!! I am learning so much about how that Lord answers every question we have, even if we don't directly ask Him. Hahaha. A funny example. I wash my clothes by hand and then I hang them one the line to dry. Well a couple weeks ago I went to bring in the dry clothes and realized that I lost one of my socks. I was so curious to know if it flew off the roof and where is landed. I couldn't find it. I never prayed about it but every time I saw my socks after that I thought about my lost sock. Well this morning I went on the roof to hang some clothes out to dry and I found my sock! hahahaha. I found it in the corner of the roof. Very random. hahaha. Love the small miracles in life!!
So we have been working hard in my new area to find and teach new people and to gain the trust of the members here. We have had to change their idea of the missionaries due to past problems. We are doing great. We will be having an activity for the missionary work this Saturday and a wedding and baptism on Friday!!! I am so excited for this weekend!! We should improve a ton after the weekend.
It is such an amazing experience being on the mission. Time flies way too fast!! Especially when there is unity with your companion. I can hardly believe that we are starting our 4th week together, Hna Rojas and me. Don't let time pass you by. I just read in the Liahona for the month of August that one of the apostles(I think Elder Oaks) tells us to DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!! Live up to the high standard to Lord sets for His followers!!

Hi everyone,
How are you all doing?? I am doing wonderful!! On Saturday I was able to go back to San Felipe (I had to get special permission.) for the baptism of 4 people that I had taught. It was great!!! Hna Lorena is the landlord of the house I lived in. I have always had a soft spot in my heart for her and her family. I was SO happy to see her get baptised. She was the last one in her family to get baptised and so now the family is complete!!! It was amazing.
The three kids that got baptized are the kids of one of my recent converts. They are Rocio, Osvel, and Julio. Osvel is the second oldest... He is 12 years old. The thing that makes him extra special is that he is the size of a 4 year old, doesn't hear, and doesn't talk. He comunicates through his own made up signs. He is hilarious!! I was so happy to see him and his siblings get baptised too. They completed their family too.
Last week I had helped 16 people come unto Christ through baptism, but now I have helped 20. It is the best feeling in the world!!! I challenge all of you to find a friend that isn't a member. Talk to them about the BEST gift you could ever offer them... The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will bring more peace and joy to your life than any other thing!!!
My comp, Hna. Rojas, and I are doing great!! I love her!!! We are both new to the area and are having to do a lot of repairing the concept of missionary work. The last missionaries that were here left a bad impression and did not have the trust of the leaders or members of the ward. I hope that each of you can always act in a way that will bring glory and honor to the Savior and the family name!! It makes life so much easier!!
